July 1:
Mobilize Against Dekalb Jail

We will gather and march from Kensington Marta station to the Dekalb Jail - bring banners, signs, chalk, drums, horns, loudspeakers, etc.

In early April of 2019, a viral image depicting the horrific conditions of Dekalb Co Jail inspired many people to come forward with similar stories of abuse and neglect. Concerned residents of Atlanta protested these conditions as accounts of mold overgrowth, bloody meat, medical neglect and clerical errors proliferated on the internet. Despite the media attention generated, the Dekalb County Jail denies what is readily visible to thousands of families and inmates. This website is a clearinghouse dedicated to documenting the organized resistance against the conditions of this jail and the contemporary American carceral state.

Tell Your Story...

The more stories that people come forward to share, the more difficult it becomes for the sheriff's office to sweep the allegations under the rug.

If you or your family member or friend have experienced grievances from Dekalb co. jail, please share your story. Feel free to submit your story anonymously.
